The CrossFit Games Season is coming! It runs from the Open (Open registration started on January 15) through the end of the CorssFit Games (July 25-27). More than 138,000 people participated in the Open last year, and this year, the worldwide competition will be even broader and more inclusive. This is a 5 month season that you will not want to miss!

This year at CrossFit Roseville we will be having an Intramural Open: a fun competition between all of our members split into 3 teams (Thanks To CrossFit Catalyst for the idea!). The scoring will be based on participation in the open and the top 3 men and women open scores, as well as team spirit! Team names will be decided by the team captains:

Team #1: Kate Rebello.

Team #2: Jessie Ingram.

Team #3: Heath Sherrat.

Coaches and CrossFit Roseville members will be ‘drafted’ onto an Intramural team. Following that draft, every other athlete registered for the Open will be drawn from a hat. Team Captains will rotate draws, and then notify the athletes of their team. The ‘Draft Party’ will take place the week before the Open begins (Feb 20-26th sometime.)


+1 Point – Attendance: every member of a team that completes an Open workout at CrossFit Roseville each week earns one point. Maximum one point per athlete per workout.

+1 Point – Top 3: every male AND female member who places among the Top 3 at CrossFit Roseville for each workout gets an extra point for their team.

+5 Points (team) – Spirit: The team with the most noise, pride, and PRESENCE each week will receive 5 bonus points.

“The first Open workout will be released on Thursday, Feb. 27. The fifth and final Open workout will be released five weeks later on Thursday, March 27. The second stage of the season, the Regionals, will be held over four weekends. Over the course of three days, the fittest men, women, and teams from every region will prove their fitness.

The Regionals are the semi-final round of the CrossFit Games. The top 48 men, 48 women and 30 teams from each region converge for three days of live competition.This year, the Regionals will be spread out across four weekends from May 9 through June 1.

The Regionals will narrow the field to the fittest 43 men, 43 women, and 43 teams from across the globe. These athletes, as well as a few wild cards, will be invited to compete at the 2014 Reebok CrossFit Games.

For the fifth consecutive year, the CrossFit Games will be held at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. This year, the Fittest on Earth will be tested on July 25-27. Like last year, the Masters Competition will be held on Tuesday through Thursday, July 22-24.

Tickets to the Regionals and the CrossFit Games will go on sale in April.”
